Priscilla J. Remal

March 30, 1937 — October 13, 2025

Fitchburg

Priscilla (Whitney) Remal, age 88, passed away peacefully after a long and meaningful life devoted to her family, friends, and career in nursing.

Priscilla was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert (“Bob”) Remal. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage filled with deep love and companionship. They were the last surviving members of their respective families, but are fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews on both sides. Born to Howard and Lillian Whitney, Priscilla was the only sister of her late brother, Richard Whitney, and sister-in-law, Georgia Whitney.

Bob and Priscilla, married on September 13, 1958, Priscilla was instilled with a strong work ethic and dedication to helping others—qualities she carried throughout her life. A proud BHSN-registered nurse, Priscilla devoted many years to Burbank Hospital and the Visiting Nurse Association. Her career later expanded into social services, family planning, and gerontology.

Priscilla also led an Alzheimer’s family support group for several years and retired in 1999. Never one to sit still, she later worked part-time at a local florist, where she enjoyed a lasting friendship with the owners, who remained close to both her and Bob. In retirement, Priscilla was an avid walker and enjoyed staying in touch with her former Burbank colleagues through occasional luncheon gatherings. Her professionalism, compassion, and energy touched countless lives throughout her career and beyond.

Priscilla is survived by her sons, Robert Remal of New Jersey, Brian Remal and his wife Diana of Leominster, and her daughter Susan Wilson of Townsend with her significant other, Leo Fregeau.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.

In keeping with Priscilla’s wishes, her burial will be private.
