Richmond Bishop, born on July 9, 1929, in Boston, Massachusetts, lived a life defined by service, dedication, adventure, and love of family. A proud Navy veteran, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, 

Richmond was beloved, indeed he built a strong family and amazing friendships due to his caring presence, meaningful generosity, and unwavering commitment to those around him. His warm and witty humor and steadfast presence will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Richmond was a graduate of Northeastern University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He proudly served his country in the Aviation Component of the United States Navy during the Korean War, including service aboard an aircraft carrier, and built a successful and accomplished career marked by a strong work ethic.

He enjoyed following the stock market and believed deeply in the values of hard work, generosity, and devotion to family. Above all else, Richmond was a devoted husband and a true family man. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Carol, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and adventure. One of their greatest joys was traveling and camping in their RV, alongside lifelong friends as a member of NAFCA and Squannacook camping club.

Richmond was deeply committed to his community. He proudly served on the Our Lady of the Lake Bazaar Committee and was an active member of the American Legion in Leominster. Through his service, generosity, and friendship, he left a lasting impact on those around him and exemplified the values of faith, patriotism, and community involvement.

Richmond leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom that will forever impact his growing family. He is survived by his children, Carol Robison and her longtime companion, Philip Choiniere; Sandra Vorse and her husband, Duane; Richard Bishop and his wife, Sherry; Charles Bishop and his wife, Jennifer; and Robert Bishop and his wife, Emily; along with 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson as well as nieces and nephews. They will remember him with joy as a loving father and grandfather, a guiding light, and a steadfast source of strength and encouragement.

He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Carol Bishop, his parents, Richard Bishop and Sarah Bishop, and his sister, Mary Maughn

Calling hours are Thursday, June 4, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg. His funeral will be held on Friday, June 5, at 12 Noon at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 1400 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 357 Main Street, Leominster, MA.
