Robert C. DiMarzio, affectionately known as Bob, was born on October 12, 1938, in Leominster, MA, and resided there for the majority of his life. Bob was a dedicated and generous man who lived his life with a strong commitment to family, work, and community. He was known for his witty sense of humor, a trait that endeared him to many and made him a joy to be around. His loyalty was unparalleled, as evidenced by his 66-year-long marriage to Patricia.
Bob was a master draftsman, first employed by Foster Grants until 1990, and then JD Industries until his retirement in 2002. His keen eye for detail and dedication to his craft was evident in every design he created, contributing significantly to the success of both companies. Outside of work, Bob was a man of many interests and hobbies. In his younger years, he enjoyed photography, capturing beautiful moments and memories that his family cherishes to this day. He was also an enthusiast of the great outdoors, sharing countless camping adventures with his children and later in his retirement, in Florida. A handyman at heart, Bob enjoyed working on cars and the thrill of riding his motorcycle. However, what mattered most to Robert was his family. Every endeavor, every adventure, was a means to bring joy and comfort to his loved ones.
Bob is survived by his children and their partners, John (Donna) DiMarzio, Steven (Allison) DiMarzio, Julie (John) Matley, Robert (Jilcara) DiMarzio, and James (Christie) DiMarzio, as well as his sister, Louise Hillman. He leaves behind a legacy in his numerous grandchildren - Robert A.DiMarzio, Gregory DiMarzio, Emily Haines, Anna DiMarzio, Laura Bergeron, Thomas Matley, Michael Matley, Victoria DiMarzio, Charles DiMarzio, Samuel DiMarzio, James K. DiMarzio, and Juliana DiMarzio. He also had the joy of knowing his twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nina DiMarzio, his beloved wife, Patricia DiMarzio, and his granddaughter, Antonia DiMarzio.
We invite all who knew and loved Bob to leave memories and upload photos to the memorial page, as a way of celebrating his life and the impact he made on each of us.
