Robert M. Griffin

Dec 29, 1940 — Jun 25, 2026

Fitchburg

With a twinkle in his eye and a joke up his sleeve, Robert M. Griffin, better known as Bob, lived his life as a free spirit . Bob was a loving brother of six siblings and uncle to eighteen nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Ayer, MA, on December 29, 1940, embarked on his final Irish goodbye on June 25, 2026. A resilient character known for his funny anecdotes and cracking jokes , Bob had a knack for making everyone around him smile and lived his life unapologetically himself .

Bob enjoyed golfing with his brothers , he was a formidable bowler, and a risk-taker at the casino, always ready for a good game. His love for going out for coffee and lunch with his brother Hal turned ordinary days into cherished memories. Robert's roots took him to the lakes regions of New Hampshire to Port Richie, Fla, and York, Maine, before he eventually settled down in Fitchburg . His love for family gatherings , cold beer, good food, and his trademark Irish goodbye, left a lasting impression on every life he touched. Most importantly, Bob treasured his family above all else, holding his siblings and nieces and nephews close to his heart.

In addition to his brother Hal, Robert leaves behind a host of loving family members, whose lives have been enriched by his unique sense of humor and resilient spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Griffin and Marion Griffin , siblings Suzanne , Jim , Maura , Maryanne and most recently his beloved niece Kathleen . Surely these two are getting into Shenanigans in Heaven already ! Each of us will remember Bob in our own special ways, cherishing the memories we shared and the laughter he brought into our lives.
