Ronald P. Lubianez

July 3, 1952 — February 7, 2022



On February 7, 2022, Ronald P. Lubianez, passed away at the age of 69 with his loving wife Cindy (Cali) by his side following his courageous battle with cancer.

Ron was born in Shirley, MA to Zigmund and Loretta Lubianez. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1970 where he played varsity baseball.  He was the recipient of the Rotary Club Scholar Athlete Award, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Science and Mathematics Medal and the University Preparatory Gold F Award winner.  He graduated from Fitchburg State College in 1974 where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Suma Cum Laude and was awarded the Central Massachusetts American Chemical Society College Chemistry Student of the Year. He received his Ph.D. in Physical Polymer Chemistry in 1978 from Clark University, Worcester, MA.

Ron held a variety of positions over his working career which included Technical Business Consultant, QA/QC, North American and Global Sales Manager, R&D, and Business Development for companies that included James River Graphics, ChemDesign Corporation, H.C Starck, Inc and HPM North America Conshohocken, LLC .

He has written several publications in the fields of Proton Magnetic Resonance, Polymer Chemistry, Semiconductors and Printed Electronics. In 1987 he was issued a patent for Dielectric Imaging Sheet Through Elimination of Moisture Induced Image Defects.

Sports is what kept Ron grounded.  He was a lover of all sports but his greatest loves were playing softball and golf. He started playing with Banner Mold Softball Team in 1975 where they won numerous tournaments, including the MA State tournament in 1978, qualifying them to play in Spokane Washington for the National tournament. He also played for a variety of different sponsored teams in Fitchburg winning 8 city championships.

He became a member of Oak Hill Country Club in 1988, where he served on the Board of Directors and was a Committee Chair.

He developed incredible, lasting, friendships on the ball field and the golf links.

Ron was predeceased in death by his parents Zigmund and Loretta (Cieslak) Lubianez.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Cindy (Cali) of Fitchburg, MA, his brother David Lubianez and wife Susan of Worcester, MA, his mother-in-law Greta Cali of Fitchburg, and several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins whom he cherished.  His sense of humor, generosity and positive attitude will be missed by all.
