Sharon “Sherri” Ann Leahey, 65, of Leominster, MA passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children on Monday, August 9, 2021, after a short illness.
Sherri was a lifelong resident of Leominster and graduated from Leominster High School, class of 1973. She worked happily for the IRS for many years. A true thespian, Sherri performed in countless plays and musicals throughout the years with Stageworks and New Players Theatre Guild, making lifelong friends. A talented musician, she performed for many years with her bands, All in the Family and Sounds Unlimited. Sherri also loved to sew and make costumes for plays and theme parties.
Sherri will be fondly remembered for her kindness, compassion and hospitality, offering an open door, an open ear and a seat at her table to anyone who needed it. She will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her children, Amelia Bomengen, Bethany Kochanski and her husband Michael, all of Leominster; son, Christopher Bomengen of Fitchburg; sisters, Lynne Pelham, of Wells, ME and Katie Perla of Leominster; sister in law, Hugette Leahey of Fitchburg; grandchildren, Isabella and William Marien and Cade, Landon and Lola Kochanski; longtime partner, Antoine Mitchell and many nieces and nephews.
Sherri was predeceased by her parents, William and Anita (Girouard) Leahey; brother, William Leahey and brother in law, Andy Pelham.
