Sonny Heng, 35, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 30, 2026.
Sonny was from Leominster, Massachusetts where he had made many lifelong friends; Cathy Tang and William Leahy who became like family. He graduated from Leominster High School in 2009 and later earned his undergraduate degree from Bridgewater State University and later a Master of Science from Bay Path University in the field of Occupational Therapy. His career led him to travel and live in different parts of the United States, before settling into Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was passionate in his work as an occupational therapist. Sonny’s patients adored him. He brought a calm presence to the therapy sessions and made every patient feel heard and safe.
Sonny will be remembered for his kind and friendly spirit, his ability to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome, and his bright smile and contagious laughter. He had a way of bringing joy to those around him and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, and singing, and truly embraced life’s moments.
He was survived by his mother, Khanthary Rameau and her husband, Rick Rameau; his father, Touy Heng and siblings (sister); Joanna Heng and her partner, Gino Gurley and daughter Shyanne Gurley; (brother) Anthony Heng and (brother) Max Rameau and his wife Hanna and their children Penny and Marshall. He will be greatly missed by his uncles (Viengxay Vilayphone and wife Khosay; Siam Vilayphone and wife Linda), aunts (Khaisamone Czartoryski and husband Steven; Khonesavanh Thielmann and husband Dave) and beloved cousins (Gina, Bobby, Savanna, Andrew, Colton, Atticus, MaKayla and Wyatt). He was predeceased by his grandmother, Samay Saysana, and his uncle, John Saysana.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sonny’s memory to Autism Speaks. Autism awareness was important to Sonny as a close family member who he adored is Autistic and on the Autism Spectrum. Sonny never made him feel less important or different because of this diagnosis and always championed that “he could do and become whoever he wanted to”. That was the person that Sonny was, a person who had so much love to give and who everyone loved in return. He will be greatly missed but cherished in our memories and hearts.
