On April 27, 2019, Stanley George Camacho, loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away at age 95 with his loving and devoted wife , Katherine D. Camacho at his side in Leominster, MA.
A military burial service will be held at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial in Winchendon, MA on Friday, May 3 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Highlands Baptist Church, Fitchburg, MA at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Gideon’s International, P. On April 27, 2019, Stanley George Camacho, loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, passed away at age 95 with his loving and devoted wife , Katherine D. Camacho at his side in Leominster, MA.
Stanley was born on May 17, 1923 in Seymour, CT to Joseph and Vina Camacho. He graduated from Milford High School and joined the Merchant Marines during WWII, serving for 4 1/2 years in the European theater. After the war he returned to Milford, worked in a steel mill and studied metallurgy at Yale University leading to a life-long career in steel sales. He married the love of his life, Katie, on November 11, 1950 in Milford, CT where they lived for 50 years. In 1996 they moved to Fitchburg, MA where he became a licensed pastor, practicing in various Baptist churches, serving the Lord with his abiding faith in Jesus Christ.
Stanley loved the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and hiking. His life centered around serving the Lord with preaching, Bible studies in his home, teaching Sunday school, and the College and Career classes. But most of all, Katie, his wife, was his dearest passion of all.
Stanley was predeceased by his parents, brother, Harold, sister, CarolAnn, and his two sons Russ and Ward. He is survived by his granddaughter, Rebecca and his grandson, Jonathan (Allison), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
