Thomas Palermo

May 25, 1931 — November 19, 2015

The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Monday, November 23 with a Mass in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union St., Leominster at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Saint Leo’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, November 22, from 2-5 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.



Leominster – Thomas Palermo, 84, of Leominster, passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2015.

Thomas was born in Boylston, Massachusetts on May 25, 1931, a son of the late Gaetano and Angela (Favara) Palermo. In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was stationed at Fort Dix in New Jersey, where he ran the Commissary; he was honorably discharged in 1954. Thomas worked for Tom’s Food World and later worked for 38 years at the former Tuckers Housewares in Leominster.

Thomas, always keeping himself busy, enjoyed traveling to Marco Island in Florida and salt water fishing. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Thomas treasured time spent with his family, especially his three grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Rose Marie (DelleChiaie) Palermo; children, Angela Roberts and her husband David, Vincent Palermo and his wife Norma Jean Palermo, and Annmarie Sargent; grandchildren, Amanda Sargent, Travis Palermo, and Daphne Palermo, all of Leominster. Thomas also leaves his sisters, Alvina Navaroli of Leominster and Connie Caputo and her husband Tony of Spencer; brother, Rosario Palermo and his wife Florence of Charlton; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Thomas was predeceased by his six siblings, Vito Palermo, Nicholas Palermo, Ann Renzi, Mary Kurasowicz, Nancy Spinelli, and Joseph Palermo.
