Waldemar "Walter" Cintron

Waldemar “Walter” Cintron, 74, passed away on October 26, 2025 at his home accompanied by his family. 

Born on April 29, 1951 in the barrio of Aguirre in Salinas, Puerto Rico, to Luz Maria Silvagnoli-Acosta and Enrique Cintron Sr., Walter was a hardworking and dedicated man. He established his life in Fitchburg, MA, where he devoted his everything to his loving wife, Maria Migdalia Cosme and children, Maria “Denise” M. Cintron and Waldermar “Andy” Cintron. 

Walter led an adventurous, fulfilling, and joyful life. His life impacted so many others through his work, love, and compassion. He was a spirited man who never stopped learning and sharing his wealth of knowledge to those around him. Walter’s love for his family was undying and the strength of his character. He was known as a father and a hero to many. 

Walter had an exceptional long-term memory, regaling friends and family tales about the memorable events and past-times with his siblings, children, nieces, and nephews whom he adored. He was proud of his contributions to his long-term career with the plastic industry, which introduced him to the state of Georgia where he planted his family in later years. Walter enjoyed eating Espresso’s Pizza - Fitchburg, cruising in new cars, tinkering with technology, fishing, watching movies and wrestling, but most of all playing with his great grandchildren. He was known for his witty, but loving humor and his warm and friendly personality. 

Walter is described as the life of the room and the most loved of our lives. His life will be remembered and in our hearts forever for it was a gift and a legacy that will last for generations to come.

 He was predeceased by his parents and older sisters, Florence, Virgen and Neidy. His survivors include his beloved wife, Maria Cintron (formerly Cosme), two children: “Walter” Cintron and Maria Chamorro (formerly Cintron), five grandchildren: Jacqueline A. Soto (formerly Cintron), Jonathan D. Cintron, Jenny K. Cintron, Michael R. Chamorro, and Jessaly L. Chamorro, nine great-grandchildren: Bella M. Soto, Layla S. Soto, Brody M. Soto, Harmanie N. Reyes, Milo T. Reyes, Gadiel D. Cintron, Dominic E. Silva, Athena Cintron, and Lucia I. Jimenez, his brother Enrique Cintron Jr., and his sister Nancy Cintron, followed by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will be held at Brandon Funeral Home. The Calling Hours will be November 9, 2025 from 3:00-6:00pm at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, MA. 

Walter’s church funeral service will be held at Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union St., Leominster, MA on November 10,2025 at 10:00am followed by the burial at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, 96 Goodrich St, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
