LaGrange, GA - William R. Woodard (Bill), age 61, died on Holy Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice of LaGrange, GA after a long battle with health issues.

Bill is predeceased by his father Ralph W. Woodard and sister Karen Barfield. He leaves behind his two children Macy Woodard of Baldwinville, MA and Dominic Woodard of Hampton, GA. He leaves his mother Theresa and siblings, Diane, Andrew, David and Amy, his best friend Doug, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, his dog Dixie and his cat Bonnie.

Bill was born in Leominster, MA to Ralph and Theresa Woodard. He attended Leominster High School and completed classes at Mount Wachusett Community College. He served with distinction in the United States Marine Corp as a Russian linguist. He particiated and contributed time to the Franco American War Veterans in Leominster, MA and the American Legion in LaGrange, GA.

Bill worked in Leominster at Georgia Pacific where he loved and excelled in the plastics industry. he relocated to McDonough, GA in 2022 to assist in the start-up of a new manufacturing plant and helped to grow the business. Bill worked for the companies expanding his knowledge in the plastics industry and moved when necessary, always staying in the south. Bill had made many friends along the way, which were like family to him. Bill retired in 2022 due to health issues.

Bill loved time with his kids, participating in Cub Scouts and coaching soccer. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, taking his chances at slot machines and he loved his home teams in Boston, the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtcis. He was not at all shy about showing his support proudly displaying his teams flags. He loved life, he could speak and understand 7 or 8 languages, and he was a bright light at any event. Bill was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. Fitchburg, MA 01420. A burial will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St. Winchendon, MA 01475.
